This new 40km four-lane expressway from Kurri Kurri to Branxton was constructed as two separate projects. Premier Drill and Blast worked with Abigroup, who undertook the 27km western section.


The western section includes four grade-separated interchanges at Kurri Kurri, Loxford, Allandale and Branxton. It also includes road bridge crossings at McLeod Road Loxford, Old Matain Road at Sawyers Gully, Camp Road at Alladale and Tuckers Lake at Greta.
